A Prayer for the Gifted & the Exhausted

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:29-32 NIV

Lord,

I come to you today, with gratitude and a heart of thankfulness for this day and everyday leading up to it. I Thank you for the things I overlook on a minute-to-minute basis. I also thank you for my gifts and talents, they have helped me learn so much about myself. Lord, lately I’ve been feeling the strain of being gifted, being the one people depend on and it’s draining me. I need you to help me manage my time, attention and strength on the things that you approve of. I ask for the boldness to say “No” to unnecessary assignments and for you to teach me how to walk appropriately within my gifts. Help me to be patient with those who I lead now or will lead in the future; as they learn from me, provide me with substance that refuels me so that I won’t tire out or drink from what I’ve poured into them. Teach me to see the giftings in others so that I can delegate tasks. In this, you will recieve all the Glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
